It's middle aged criminals week as some assaults and robberies are perpetrated by 40 somethings. Not to be outdone, a 15 year old curfew violator upgrades himself to making threats to police. Another police chase from Minneapolis to Golden Valley--this is getting to be a weekly event. Also: dumb: Losing your jail ID bracelet while committing a new crime. Dumber: returning to the scene of the crime and asking the cops if they've seen it.

ASSAULT
25TH & 4TH TUESDAY 1207 HOURS 07-286919
Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle which failed to obey a stop sign. After running the occupants for warrants they learned the rear passenger had one and as they were removing him from the car the front passenger, Ray Brown, fled on foot. During the foot pursuit and officer observed him continuously reach for his waist area and upon apprehension he was found to be carrying a loaded 9MM S & W pistol which had one in the chamber. During the inventory of the vehicle officers located a loaded 25 caliber Raven pistol. Officer injured himself during the foot chase. Arrested: Isiah Harper, Ray Brown/convicted felon, Gregory Walker and Mack Henderson, all black males, 18, 19, 18, 19 years old with 30, 12, 4 and 1CAPRS.
23XX LOGAN TUESDAY 1744 HOURS 07-287220
Officers responded to a report of a person with a gun and shots fired. Witnesses said suspects in a car shot at listed address then a male came out and fired back. Officers located three bullet holes in the exterior of the house and three .45 caliber casings and two spent shot gun rounds in front of it. Officers checked the inside of the residence and found several people who were not involved. Officers inventoried 9MM Taurus from the home owner.
33XX PENN WEDNESDAY 2045 HOURS 07-288733
Responding to an ASLT call officers spoke to an intoxicated 51 year old black female who was struck above the eye by a 30-40 year old black female known to her during a verbal disagreement.
LOGAN & BROADWAY THURSDAY 1648 HOURS 07-289651
Squads responded and located the 70 year old black male victim who had a minor cut to his thumb and admitted to cutting the arrested party in the midsection after first being cut by him during a verbal disagreement. Arrested : Johnnie Nunn, 60 year old black male with 39 CAPRS.
14XX PENN SATURDAY 1454 HOURS 07-292150
Officers responded to a 15 year old male shot in the shoulder and arrived to a victim with non-life threatening wounds. Through interviews it was learned that the victim was standing at the corner of his house outside with his back facing Penn when a bullet entered and exited his shoulder. Evidence indicated the bullet came from the area of Penn. Officers performed a line search for a casing but none was located. The bullet could have come from a car or someone on foot

28 year old Hispanic male was walking when he was grabbed by three black males, 20-30 years old, who shoved him against a wall and demanded his property and then threw him to the ground. Loss was a ring.
29th & HUMBOLDT WEDNESDAY 1830 HOURS 07-287275
14yo male was riding his bike when a black male juvenile approached on a bike and pushed the victim of his bike. The suspect then said “Next time you run, I’m going to have my brother get you” and then rifled victims pockets taking two pocket knifes.

Responding to a SHOTS call officers located a cab driver who reported his fare, two black males, robbed him of $100.00 and while he attempted to flee they fired at him. A neighbor reported bullets struck their home. K9 tracked to 33rd & Bryant.
11XX BROADWAY THURSDAY 2030 HOURS 07-289898
33 year old Hispanic female walking into gas station to pay for gas when a 27-35 year old black male approached, demanded money and grabbed her purse. Suspect punched her in the chest and fled with the purse containing $35.00.
LOWRY & PENN FRIDAY 0940 HOURS 07-290526
After exiting a check cashing store two black males, 40-50 years old approached a 45 year old black male and pushed him to the ground. When the victim got up he hit one suspect in the wrist with his cane causing the suspect to drop a knife. As the victim focused on one suspect the other, holding a small black gun, rifled his pockets and took $250.00.

19-22 black male attempted to take a bike at gunpoint from a 36 year old black male.
21st & DUPONT SATURDAY 0503 HOURS 07-291751
After making a traffic stop officers learned that earlier the passenger, a 26 year old white male, had been struck in the head with a metal bar and robbed of $240.00 by two black males aged 15-20 years old.
26XX LOGAN SATURDAY 1310 HOURS 07-292023
While helping a friend transport four chrome rims a 41 year old black male had his arm broken and his vehicle taken by two black males 20-30 years old, one of which said the rims were his.
EMERSON & BROADWAY SATURDAY 2000 HOURS 07-292489
A 53 year old Asian male was approached by the suspect who asked for beer and smokes and the victim gave him beer. Suspect then asked for money to which the victim refused so the suspect began to hit victim in the head causing his injuries and took his gold chain. While officers were at the scene a witness pointed out the suspect who was in the area. Suspect located with blood on his clothes and later found with the victims gold chain. Arrested was Bennie Johnson a 41 year old black male with 1 CAPRS.
JAMES & BROADWAY SUNDAY 0100 HOURS 07-292990
17 year old white male provided a questionable story about being robbed of $20.00 by a 25-35 year old Hispanic male wearing all black. Victim who was tagged for Curfew and carrying smokes was transported to the Curfew Center.
42ND & EMESON SUNDAY 0530 HOURS 07-293205
While walking a 28 year old Indian female and a 37 year old black male were approached by two black females and one black male who demanded money at gun point. After advising they had none they were ordered to strip of their clothing, maced and struck with fists and metal pipes. No loss and victims were transported to the hospital.
23XX LYNDALE SUNDAY 0555 HOURS 07-293199
A 36 year old black male was confronted by six black males carrying sticks and metal piped who exited 23XXLyndale and demanded money. One suspect removed victims watch, wallet and smokes and then the group fled.
3201 PENN SUNDAY 1845 HOURS 07-293640
A 20 year old Asian female had her purse containing $500.00 taken by a black male.

Two 30-45 year old black males attempted to take an 18 year old black males vehicle while he was at a stop light.

Using intelligence gathered officers performed a suspicious vehicle stop and after removing occupants located a loaded magazine on the floor of the back seat and a Romarm semi-automatic rifle the trunk of the car. Arrested: for weapons – Quentin Hammond, convicted felon, BM/20, 10 CAPRS and for a warrant Corneilous Heads, BM/20, 5 CAPRS
8XX QUEEN TUESDAY 2041 HOURS 07-287431
MN Gang Strike Task Force search warrant recovered a loaded 9MM Glock with 30 round magazine, 2.25 pounds of marijuana. Arrested: Wyane Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Jr., & Lasale Pickford, 47, 24 & 30 years old w/18, 13 & 30 CAPRS, all black males.
42ND & EMERSON WEDNESDAY 0345 HOURS 07-287860
While running stolen vehicle checks officers received a hit on a vehicle and while turning the squad around the vehicle fled the area. An assisting squad located the unoccupied vehicle nearby where it had crashed and another squad stopped an individual in the area who admitted to being the driver. A search of the vehicle located a long barreled pellet gun. Vehicle had been taken in a nearby burglary. Arrested for auto theft and weapons was Frantone Hunter, BM/23, 19 CAPRS.
29XX PENN WEDNESDAY 1135 HOURS 07-288091
Officers dispatched to 911 narcotics call and upon arrival observed a male carrying a bag and then 20 seconds later without it. Upon locating the bag officers discovered a loaded 357 Ruger, which was a Sherburne County stolen. Arrested: Mister Evans, Anthony Gildersleeve and Terry Arnold, all black males, 25, 19 and 21 years old with 11, 14 and 9 CAPRS.
DUPONT & BROADWAY WEDNESDAY 1605 HOURS 07-288382
Traffic stop on a vehicle as its window tint was to dark and the listing showed the vehicle to be a different color. Upon approaching they observed steering column wrapped with rags and the driver attempting to hide something. Upon removing the driver a loaded 380 Kurz semi automatic pistol fell to the floor. Arrested: Antoine Pigue, BM/25, 82 CAPRS. 4 other’s ID’d.
37th & KNOX WEDNESDAY 1626 HOURS 07-288390
Responding to a person with a gun call officers located a male carrying a black rifle which turned out to be a BB gun. Arrested for possessing a BB in public was 16 year old black male with 5 CAPRS.
13XX 10 AVENUE THURSDAY 1953 HOURS 07-289857
Responding to a person with a gun who was threatening others offices observed several males, some who attempted to flee and others who didn’t. Located in the Park bathroom was a backpack which contained a loaded 12 gauge single shot Harrington & Richardson sawed off shotgun. Arrested were two black males a 17 year old w/7 CAPRS and 13 year old w 3 CAPRS.
22nd & ILION THURSDAY 2245 HOURS 07-289059
Responding to a person with a gun call officers located the described suspect who was said to have hidden a gun by a vehicle. Officers located a Walther CO2 pistol and arrested a 17 year old black male w/8 CAPRS.
31XX LOGAN SUNDAY 0517 HOURS 07-293170
Officers heard a single gun shot and went to a nearby house known for trouble and made contact with a male and located a sawed off Mossberg Country Squire 12 gauge pump shotgun and two shells from the suspects pocket. Arrested was: Ronald Tolliver, 28 year old black male with 18 CAPRS.
HIGHLIGHTS REPORTED BY PRECINCT SERGEANTS
TUESDAY – 0403 hours – 27XX Penn – 07-286659. Robbery of Dwelling and upon arrival officers met with an elderly Lao female and her 18 year old daughter. Victims reported two Asian males crawled in a first floor window, bounded them with duct tape and demanded money, taking approx. $1,800.00. Officer was able to interpret in the victims’ native language.
TUESDAY – 1727 hours – 6XX Queen S - 07-287198. K9 Officer attempted to stop a vehicle on 394 for a minor traffic violation however the driver didn’t stop and fled into Golden Valley so terminated the pursuit. Information was passed to Golden Valley PD and they ended up in a pursuit with the vehicle which came back into MPLS and the driver bailed in the 600 block of Russell. MPD assisted GVPD with a perimeter and the suspect was located by K-9 and received a minor bite to his buttocks. Search incident to arrest revealed the suspect carrying a moderate amount of Meth. GVPD advised they recovered additional Meth and two guns from the vehicles trunk. The suspect transported by GVPD. No MPD squads involved in the pursuit.
TUESDAY – 2300 hours – 36th & Penn - 07-288018. Officers dispatched to a theft report call where three televisions were stolen from a vehicle. The victim found a Hennepin County Jail bracelet in the car and then a male walking down the street asked the officer if he found an ID bracelet. This brilliant male was booked for THEFT.
WEDNESDAY – 0945 hours – 14th & Russell - 07-288023. Officers dispatched on a burglary in progress and stopped a party matching the suspect description. The male was carrying a duffle bag of aluminum from the windows of home and was on a stolen bike. Male was booked after being interviewed by Property Crimes.
WEDNESDAY – 1155 hours – 31XX UPTON - 07-288115. Officers conducted a TLE on vehicle and found that the female driver was driving after suspension. Incident to arrest officer discovered the female to be carrying crack cocaine.
WEDNESDAY 1608 hours – Broadway & Dupont – 07-288314. Officer aired he was attempting to catch up to an Anoka County stolen vehicle which was not stopping and was now fleeing. The driver went NB from 16th/Emerson to Broadway/Dupont going through at least two stop signs. At Broadway/Dupont the driver pulled to the curb and both the driver and passenger attempted to flee on foot. At this time a K9 Officer arrived and released his dog in order to apprehend the driver. The dog tackled the passenger and delivered a minor bite to his left shoulder blade. And the driver was apprehended by another officer. HCMC Medics advised the bite wound was very minor and recommended it be cleaned. The driver was booked PC Flee and the passenger was tagged in lieu of arrest for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle and released going with EMS to HCMC for treatment. At the jail the driver complained of chest pains and difficulty breathing so she was refused by the jail nurse so transported to HCMC. The pursuit lasted less than one minute, covered approximately five blocks, traffic was light, streets clear and dry, speeds 40MPH or less and in all radio transmissions squad sirens could be heard. The squad video tape was inventoried along with the disposable camera showing the dog bite.
THURSDAY – 0049 hours – 28XX Aldrich – 07-289051. Officers dispatched to a burglary in progress where the resident came home to find the suspect in his garage. Using aired suspect vehicle information officers stopped a vehicle leaving the area. Victim’s property located in the car and suspect ID’d by the victim.
THURSDAY – 0359 hours – 48th & Bryant – 07-289713. About 0325 hours dispatch aired a HOTROD call listing a PT Cruiser in the area of 46th and Aldrich. Around 0400 hours officers respond to the area , locate the vehicle and attempt to stop it. However the driver accelerated and the officer aired they were in a pursuit. At 0402 the driver bails after going off the road at 48th and Humboldt. Two K9s, a sergeant and several other squads respond to help locate the driver and the area of Shingle Creek an area with lots of trees and several gated businesses. As of 0545 hours, the driver was still at large. MVR tape inventoried. Vehicle listed to Coon Rapids Jeep Dealership.
FRIDAY – 2330 hours – 21st & Lyndale – 07290126. Officers stopped a curfew violator, a 15 year old male who makes direct threats to kill the officers. He is booked at JDC for a warrant. Information is forwarded to P4 Personnel and ISAC for distribution.
FRIDAY - 0433 hours - 2XX7 Fremont – 07-290382. Officers stopped a car after running the plate and getting info that the owner is DAS and has a warrant. A gold car tries to pull in front of the squad to allow the other car to escape a stop. This act is admitted by the occupants later. The vehicle is stopped, a bunch of marijuana is recovered, and the occupants from the gold car re-appear and interfere. One of these guys runs, falls down and is caught. He is booked, as is the driver for PC narcotics. When officers later reviewed the tape is showed another male had fled from the vehicle and the females commenting to each other that even though the cops fond the dope, the male that fled was able to escape with the gun that they had in the car.
SATURDAY – 2319 hours – 41st & Queen – 07-262764. Officers attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle threatening to shoot up a house however the driver fled. The vehicle continued to loop around the upper north side and then went east on I-94 traveling to the west bank area and then into downtown. As it entered into downtown the sergeant terminated the pursuit and observed all squads to shut off emergency equipment and turn off the pursuit route The driver continued to circle around 3rd St S and Chicago and kept going past squads as they attempted to return to their precincts. Due to this fact the sergeant gave permission for squads to continue the pursuit only if the vehicle was observed leaving the downtown area. The vehicle was observed going north onto the 3rd Ave Bridge and north on Central with moderate traffic, dry streets and moderate speeds. The vehicle continued and Columbia Heights squad set up stop sticks at 37th and Central which were effective for spiking the vehicle tires. The driver then turned west on 42nd Ave NE were a State Trooper got in front of the pursuit and use a pit maneuver to stop the vehicle at 42nd & Monroe. The uncooperative driver had to be pulled from the vehicle and tazed. The driver had crack cocaine and open bottles in the car and blew .16 a PBT at the scene. The driver was brought to HCMC for minor injuries during the arrest and then booked for PC Flee, Narcotics and DWI. The juvenile passenger was brought to HCMC for being intoxicated underage. No Minneapolis squads were damaged and very minor damage to the trooper car from the pit. The squad video property inventoried. Great assistance by State Troopers and Columbia Heights Officers. The pursuit lasted 20 minutes, speeds were 60-70 mph and traffic was light and streets were dry.
MONDAY – 0055 hours - 14th & Lyndale - 07-295131. Sergeant was driving south on Lyndale when a car pulled out from 14th Ave and struck his squad. The sergeant suffered a broken finger, treated and released from HCMC and will probably be light duty for 3 weeks according to doctors. The other driver was valid, cited for careless driving and booked on a misdemeanor warrant.

I just don't understand how there can be that many thugs out there in that one precinct that despite all these arrests more keep popping up every week. Could it be the proverbial "revolving door" at work here? IMHO the vast majority of those arrested in this report should get life without parole, as these are not accidental or unintended crimes. No one is forcing these thugs to pick up a gun and rob people.
