A decision in the Fong Case

Rochelle Olson of the Strib has the full story. No damages awarded to the Fong's family, a determination that no excessive force was used. The bottom line seems to be that that the planted evidence theory did not have enough evidence for the jury to buy it. A dramatic point in the proceedings was some incendiary testimony by a Tucson cop expert witness whose "personal opinion" that excessive force was used was stricken from the record. There must have been considerable discussion however, because the jury deliberated for 6 hours between 2 days.
