Camera catches MPD officers in a lie

A North Minneapolis traffic stop on a Minneapolis couple didn't go quite as officers said according to Safe Zone camera footage. Yes, there is some basis for the man's resisting arrest charge but no, the woman did not "jump on an officer's back." In fact, she retreated back to the car when told to do so by the officers. Their original charges have been have been dismissed and they are now getting a settlement of $100,000. Story here at the Star Tribune.

Not surprising, but thanks for posting this for us!

There is absolutely zero basis for this man's resisting arrest charge.

It was by definition a FALSE arrest. The officers couldn't even get their stories straight about the reason for the stop. The people should have every right to resist false arrest. Police are not infallible and should not be treated as such. We have every right to defend ourselves against violence, badge or no badge.

It is utterly shameful that these known liars are still actively patrolling our streets. Not only do we get to pay for their court settlements, we are still paying their salaries, and get the added bonus of worrying about which liar is in the patrol car driving behind us. It's madness.

You have to admit that the police in Minneapolis are doing an excellent job. I think the job they have of keeping the city safe would be a lot easier for them if they were allowed to shoot on sight people that in their judgment shouldn't be allowed to walk the streets anymore. I know that you won't agree with that sentiment, but next time you are out wandering around, notice that guy on the corner, and actually think about it. Wonder to yourself if maybe it wouldn't be such a bad thing to get rid of him... For good.
