CRIME ALERT
Loring Park Neighborhood November 5, 2009
Facts:
On 10/30/2009 on the 1500 block of Spruce Place, a suspect entered a multi-unit apartment complex via an unsecured security door.
A female victim encountered the suspect in the common laundry room where she observed the suspect going through her laundry. The suspect sexually molested and assaulted the victim. The victim then fought off the suspect. The suspect fled the scene on foot.
The suspect is described as being a black male with medium complexion, 30-40 years old, approximately 6 foot tall, light build, unshaven with a short afro. The suspect was reported to be wearing a red flannel shirt and beanie hat while carrying a backpack.

What you can do:
· Make sure your door and window locks are in good working condition and USE THEM.
· Residents should be aware of their surroundings and not allow an unknown person to trail in behind them when entering or leaving the building.
· If there is a buzzer system, residents should only buzz in people they know or are expecting.
· Residents should not prop the main door or laundry room door open.
· Call 911 on all suspicious activity including suspicious persons loitering near laundry rooms, in hallways, or near the outside doors.
