38XX Emerson Ave N Wednesday 5/4/11
1637 hrs 11-123289
Officers responded to a shooting at the above location. V1/male, 18
yrs, was observed lying in the alley with a shot to his head. V1 was
very critical & not expected to live. Witnesses were able to
positively ID 2 male suspects, 17 & 18 yrs, who fled the scene.
Witnesses were interviewed to obtain more information. V1 was
transported to the hospital via ambulance. UPDATE::: Victim died
days later…this is now a Homicide.

16th Ave N & Russell Ave N Wednesday 5/4/11
2100 hrs 11-123582
Officers were dispatched to an assault. V1/female, 17 yrs, phoned her
mother just prior to being attacked with a blunt object, possibly a
baseball bat, by some females. V1 was bleeding from her head & was
unconscious. Ambulance responded & transported to V1 to the hospital.
Others on the scene were hostile & directed some of their remarks to
officers. Because of imminent danger to officers, they left the
scene. It should be noted that during this incident, no other squads
were available to assist officers, as the Pct. was very busy with high
priority calls. A follow-up call to the hospital provided information
that V1 was now conscious & would be fine. No suspect info at this
time on the attackers.

16th Ave N & Newton Ave N Wednesday 5/4/11
2129 hrs 11-123606
Officers went to the hospital to interview 2 shooting victims, both
males, 15 yrs. Victims were unable to describe the suspect except to
say he was wearing all black clothing. V1 had a single gunshot wound
to his thigh. V2 had a single gunshot wound to his leg & a possible
graze to his back. Wounds were non-life threatening. V2 stated they
were attending a memorial service for a murder victim killed a year
ago. V2 stated persons attending the service were "SUB" or "Stick Up
Boys" gang members & feels the only gang who would want to shoot the
SUBS would be the street gang "YNT."

Girard Ave N & Lowry Ave N Friday 5/6/11 0230
hrs 11-125005
Officers were dispatched to the hospital on a gunshot wound. V1/male,
46 yrs, had been shot in the abdomen & was receiving treatment & was
unable to speak with officers. W1/female, 24 yrs, is V1's girlfriend
& told officers that V1 had been at a party, was DK, & he then went to
see her at her father's house, where they argued. They left the house
& drove to the above area, still arguing. W1 got out of the vehicle &
walked away & V1 tried to restrain her. Unknown males appeared & told
V1 to leave W1 alone. V1 argued with these males & the argument
became physical. One of the males shot V1 & then all the males fled.
V1 walked back to the truck on his own power & told W1 to take him to
the hospital. V1's wound is life threatening.

1500 hrs 11-126883
V1/male, 11 yrs, was playing with others in his backyard when known
S1/male, 10 yrs, shot him in the side with a BB gun. Officer observed
the injury & mark left by the BB. V1 was able to direct officer to
S1's house, but S1 was not home. S1 attends the same school as V1.
S1's mother was advised to phone police when he returned. V1 & his PG
declined medical attention.

Officer was dispatched to the hospital to take a report from a victim
of a stabbing. V1/male, 26 yrs, stated he was having a picnic in the
park with his family when he observed another group of people
picnicking nearby & recognized one of them as a guy he played
basketball with on previous occasions. V1 stated another group of
people walked up to the man's group & started a confrontation. V1
went over to break it up & realized he had been stabbed. V1's
girlfriend took him to the hospital with a non-life threatening stab
wound to the side of his body. No suspect info.

8XX Newton Ave N Saturday 5/7/11 2034
hrs 11-127185
Officers met V1/male, 51 yrs, at the above location & noted he had
multiple t-shirts wrapped around his arm. V1 was taken to the
hospital via ambulance. V1 told officers that he & AP1/male, 36 yrs,
were having a conversation when AP1 became upset. AP1 grabbed a
"Samurai sword" & lunged at V1, attempting to stab him in the stomach.
V1 grabbed a book bag & was able to divert the sword to his arm. At
the hospital, Dr's said the wound was deep enough to cause motor &
nerve damage. AP1 was arrested & booked in HCJ for PC Asslt 2.
Assault 3—Significant Bodily Harm / HRPD
Lowry Ave N & Penn Ave N Saturday 5/7/11 2115 hrs
11-127236
Officers arrived at the scene of a HRPD & found V1/male, 36 yrs, with
severe facial injuries from an assault. V1 stated he went to that
location after his wife phoned him & told him she had been in an
accident there. Unknown male suspects, 20-25 yrs, ran at V1 & punched
him repeatedly in the face after knocking him to the ground. V2/male,
18 yrs, was the driver of the victim vehicle & was also struck by S2
after trying to exchange information regarding the accident.
W1/female, 27 yrs, a passenger in the victim vehicle, confirmed what
victims reported. V1 was transported to the hospital via ambulance.
V2 refused medical attention. Suspects were GOA in their vehicle.

Broadway Ave W & James Ave N Monday 5/9/11 1500
hrs 11-129038
V1/male, 27 yrs, was driving in his car when known S1/male, 26 yrs,
who is his sisters' boyfriend, drove up next to his vehicle on the
passenger side. S1 proceeded to yell at V1 & pulled a black handgun
up & fired at V1's car. V1 sped to get away & then was struck by
another vehicle. S1 continued driving away. V1 said S1 is mad at him
because he confronted S1 for beating up his sister. V1 was not
injured, but there was heavy damage to his vehicle.

27th Ave N & Fremont Ave N Tuesday 5/3/11
0040 hrs 11-121496
V1/male, 38 yrs, & V2/female, 20 yrs, were walking down the street
when they were approached from behind by 2 unknown male suspects,
20's. V1 was struck from behind with the possible butt of a gun. V2
was hit next in the face with the gun. S1, who had the gun, demanded
what they had in their pockets. When victims told S1 they didn't have
anything, both suspects fled on foot. V2 got on a bus & told the
driver to phone police. At that time, V2 was surprised when the 2
suspects rushed up to her from the back of the bus & dragged her off
the bus with them. Suspects then fled again on foot & may have
gotten into an Explorer or Lumina. Medics arrived, but both victims
refused service. No loss. Suspects were GOA.

James Ave N & Plymouth Ave N Friday 5/6/11

Officers observed V1/male, 58 yrs, stumbling & waving at them.
V1appeared to be intoxicated & told officers he was assaulted & robbed
in the above area while in a vehicle with S1/male, 45-55 yrs, &
S2/female, 28-33 yrs. V1 could not describe many details of the
robbery, but stated he was hit & is missing $100 in cash. V1 stated
the suspects forced him out of the vehicle & fled the scene. Officers
attempted to locate a crime scene, but V1 was unable to recognize
anything. V1 was transported to the hospital for treatment. Suspects
were GOA.

18TH Ave N & Dupont Ave N Saturday 5/7/11
1700 hrs 11-127079
V1/male, 60 yrs, stated he has been sober for approx. 6 mos., but on
this date he felt an urge to get high. V1 drove to north Mpls. & met
known S1/male, 38 yrs. S1 told V1 he could help him find some drugs.
S1 & his girlfriend got in V1's vehicle & drove in an effort to
locate a drug dealer. When one wasn't located, V1 stated he changed
his mind. S1 told V1 to let him out of the vehicle & when he pulled
over to do so, he felt something up against his back from the back
seat. S1 demanded all V1's money & said he would kill him if he tried
anything. V1 handed S1 $150 from his pocket. S1 & his girlfriend
then exited the car. V1 sped away as he did not know if S1 had a gun.
No injuries. S1 was not located.

8XX Lowry Ave N Sunday 5/8/11
2033 hrs 11-128330
V1/male, 25 yrs, stated he was walking down the street when 2 unknown
males, 17-20 yrs, approached him. S1 produced a gun & told him to
give him all of his money, while pointing the gun at him. V1 put his
hands up & the suspects removed $400 from his pockets & fled on foot.
V1 was not injured. It should be noted that V1 is legally blind & was
not able to give much of a description on the suspects.

V1/female, 24 yrs, stated she pulled up in front of the above location
& phoned her cousin to let him know she was there. At that time,
unknown S1/male, 28-30 yrs, approached her & pointed a black revolver
at her head. S1 demanded money & said he'd blow her head off unless
she gave him what she had. S1 reached in & frisked her for money,
without success. S1 attempted to grab the car keys, but they fell.
S1 grabbed V1's cell phone & ran, along with S2/male, 22-28 yrs, who
was only in S1's company. V1 was not injured. The cell phone is
valued at $300. Suspects were GOA.

24XX Bryant Ave N Wednesday 5/4/11
1350 hrs 11-123156
Officers conducted a suspicious vehicle stop after receiving info that
it was involved in narcotics transactions. Officers recognized the
driver, AP1/male, 24 yrs, & knew his DL was revoked. Both the driver
& passenger, AP2/male, 19 yrs, attempted to exit the vehicle as
officers approached. Officers could smell the strong odor of unused
marijuana in the vehicle & observed a bag of marijuana where AP2 had
been sitting. AP1 was searched & officers recovered several bags of
marijuana. A suspected crack cocaine rock was recovered from AP2,
along with two .25 caliber bullets. Upon searching the vehicle,
officers recovered a .25 caliber handgun, narcotics, & drug
paraphernalia. AP2 was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons & PC Narcotics.
AP1 was cited & released for DAR & No Insurance.

Banneker Ave & Humboldt Ave N Friday 5/6/11 1514
hrs 11-125505
A witness observed AP3/male, 38 yrs, drop a handgun, pick it up, & put
it in his pocket. AP3 got into a white vehicle. Witness also
observed a person in a pink shirt handling a gun in the car. Officers
arrived & found the car at the above location & noted there were 3
people inside, with 2 of them, AP1/ female, 38 yrs, & AP2/female, 34
yrs, in pink shirts. Parties were removed from the car & 2 handguns
were discovered inside. All 3 AP's were booked in HCJ for PC Weapons.

33rd Ave N & James Ave N Sunday 5/8/11
2307 hrs 11-128409
While on patrol, officers observed AP1/male, 30 yrs, walking in the
street where a sidewalk was provided. As officers approached AP1,
they observed the butt of a handgun sticking out of his pocket. AP1
was taken into custody without incident. The gun was a 9mm
semi-automatic that was loaded, but no rounds were in the chamber.
AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons.
